Science resources
Tomorrow's challenges will be met by the students of today, and it's never too early to start developing the skills and practices they'll need to succeed. One way to set the stage for the kind of three-dimensional learning called for by the NGSS is to ask students to work the same way real scientists and engineers do.
In Amplify Science, we do that every day. In each and every unit, we ask students to take on the role of a different type of scientist or engineer.
To help you spark classroom discussions about careers of the future, we’ve developed a set of Scientist Profile Cards that describe exciting science and engineering careers featured throughout Amplify Science.
Reading resources
The value of literacy skills cannot be overstated. Every academic subject is essential, but literacy unlocks them all. We know that early reading affects achievement throughout school and well into college and career. That’s why it is vital to stand for—even fight for—access to high-quality classroom reading materials starting in the very early grades.
We have a responsibility to provide literacy instruction that gives every student the same opportunity to succeed, even excel. That’s where Amplify CKLA comes in.
Sign up to receive an animated Knowledge Builders video, a new multimedia resource from our elementary reading series designed to deepen background knowledge and spark curiosity. This video on Nursery Rhymes and Fables includes a lesson guide and student activity pages. For older grades, we’ve provided a poetry lesson with a Poet’s Journal for students to read and respond to the poem and a lesson plan to guide discussion and group work.
ELA resources
We understand that middle schoolers are at the right developmental moment to appreciate connections between great literature and their changing identities and burgeoning questions about the world. Yet with increasingly rigorous standards, disparities in student skill levels, and decreasing attention spans, it's harder than ever before to fulfill your vision of a fully engaged classroom.
That’s why we built Amplify ELA—to ignite the spark of inquiry in even your least engaged students, and to get all of your students to truly love reading and writing.
To provide practice with reading fluency and writing with conviction, we’ve provided two Amplify ELA lessons and student writing activities based on Edgar Allan Poe’s text, “The Raven.”
Educators we appreciate
