A curriculum that supports every learner

At Amplify, we believe that it’s all about “low floors and high ceilings”—in other words, about providing multiple entry points and the right scaffolding opportunities so that every student can engage deeply with a rigorous curriculum. All students read the same text, but receive differentiated supports to ensure they can achieve each challenge. That is, we don’t dumb things down; we bring students up.

Six levels of differentiation

Based on a student’s needs and the performance measures within Amplify ELA reports, a teacher can choose the differentiation level that best matches that students’ needs. When students reach an activity, the platform delivers the assigned differentiation, allowing them to experience the same lesson with supports tailored specifically to them.

Supports for struggling readers

In each Amplify ELA lesson, teachers will find activities with supports particularly designed for struggling readers and ELLs.

Text previews
Brief introductions to texts that provide sharply focused context to help students struggling with reading and comprehension.

Audio supports
Throughout the Amplify ELA units, students are exposed to a variety of experiences with texts, including the option to activate audio versions for every reading.

Reveal words
All text passages contain a Reveal tool that highlights the key vocabulary words students need to understand, but might not know.
