A great way to launch the year
The Starting Points activity set provides a research-based way for students in grades 6-12 to re-engage with school and for teachers to learn about their students at the start of school.
Centered on a 15-minute writing exercise, Starting Points prompts students to consider and freely express the values they live by. Studies show that inviting students to write about themselves and their values helps them move toward a positive mindset that leads to better long-term academic outcomes.
The STEM career activity set encourages students in grades K–8 to explore how people use science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in their lives. Whether they are NASA astronauts, 3-D printing designers, or solar-powered heating engineers, people are using STEM all around us. These 10 unique activities show students a range of STEM careers and the people who work in those fields.
