Join The Reading League Illinois and Susan Lambert, host of Science of Reading; The Podcast, to learn why background knowledge is such a critical - and often overlooked - component of science-based and equitable literacy instruction as an introduction to our summer study on Natalie Wexler's The Knowledge Gap.

Susan Lambert's career, including classroom teacher, building administrator and district-level leader, has been focused on creating high quality learning environments using evidence-based practices.

Anne Brewster
Currently serving as the Director of the Springfield Children’s Dyslexia Center and the Board President of The Reading League Illinois, Anne Brewster has been in education since 2001. In addition to teaching, Anne's passion is working with teachers, empowering them with the confidence that comes with knowing they can teach any child that walks through their door how to read.

Lacey Wright
Lacey Wright has worked in education since 2005 as an elementary teacher, reading teacher, and literacy coach in Southern Illinois and loves being able to help students, teachers, and parents work together to improve literacy for our students. She is a founding member of The Reading League Illinois.
