Free access to all-new mCLASS Math during 2024–25 for participating schools!

Research Opportunity

You have an exciting opportunity to participate in a study involving a new math assessment. If you want to be a part of strengthening our research-based mathematics screening and progress monitoring solution, reach out to us today!

The purpose of this study will be to collect evidence for the reliability and validity of the new assessment and to evaluate the quality of the items within the measure. This assessment has been built from the ground up to reflect the latest research on mathematics development.

Partner schools will have access to all mCLASS Math data collected during the field study and direct access to our Amplify team for feedback!

Participants

The study will be conducted with approximately 3,000 students in grades K–5 (approximately 500 students per grade level from districts nationwide). To participate, schools are required to contribute at least three grade levels and at least 30 students per grade. 

Study Requirements

  • Study requirements to be completed by schools:
    • Contact person. Identify a contact person within the school who will act as a liaison between Amplify Research staff and school staff and who can complete the tasks listed below.
    • Classroom rosters. Provide updated classroom rosters with eligible students identified.
    • Testing windows. Coordinate research testing windows (i.e., start and end dates for beginning-, middle-, and end-of-year testing).
    • Demographic data. Provide demographic information for all participating students in grades K–8 (e.g., gender, ethnicity/race, free/reduced lunch status, English language learners, instructional setting/program model, primary language spoken at home, and special education status).
    • Language and summative assessment data. Provide data from assessments of English Language Proficiency and Math Summative assessments (e.g., state test), including proficiency levels, domain scores, and scaled scores.
  • Study requirements to be completed by teachers:
    • Assessment schedule: Approve assessment schedule for mCLASS Math and external criterion measures.
  • Study requirements to be completed by Amplify Staff:
    • mCLASS Math. Administer mCLASS Math at BOY, MOY, and EOY.
    • External measures. Administer external criterion measures at BOY, MOY, and EOY.
