Introducing Amplify Science Pennsylvania (K–8)

Amplify Science Pennsylvania combines our nationally recognized, proven curriculum with 13 custom lessons specifically designed to meet Pennsylvania's STEELS standards. Ensuring that every learner in your classroom receives a high-quality science education, Amplify Science Pennsylvania prepares students to think critically and become active problem solvers in their communities and beyond.

What is the Amplify digital experience?

The Amplify Science digital experience for grades K–8 makes it easier than ever to plan lessons, present digital content, and review student work—all from one intuitive platform.

  • Students can access all digital lessons, books, simulations, and practice tools from a single dashboard.
  • Teachers can simplify planning and instruction with ready-to-use and customizable lesson presentation slides that include teacher prompts and guidance right at point of use.
  • Teachers can also access real-time insights into student work to spot and address alternate conceptions and anonymously present student work to spark productive discussions.

Frequently asked questions

There is a full alignment between Amplify Science Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania STEELS standards. 

The Pennsylvania (PA) edition is made up of our K–8 base program, plus 13 supplemental custom lessons to address the PA STEELS standards. One or two supplemental PA lessons have been added in each of the following units:

  • Grade 1: Plant and Animal Defenses
  • Grade 2: Properties of Materials
  • Grade 3: Environments and Survival
  • Grade 4: Energy Conversions
  • Grade 5: The Earth System and Ecosystem Restoration
  • Grade 6/Earth Science: Weather Patterns
  • Grade 7/Earth Science: Plate Motion Engineering Internship
  • Grade 7/Life Science: Populations and Resources
  • Grade 8/Physical Science: Harnessing Human Energy
  • Grade 8/Physical Science: Force and Motion  

Supplemental lessons are listed along with all the other lessons on the Unit Overview page at the end of the chapter. 

All supplemental lessons will be available in the Amplify Science digital experience. To ensure you meet all Pennsylvania STEELS standards, existing customers will be automatically transitioned to the digital experience, which includes both the custom Pennsylvania lessons and enhanced student and teacher features. 

No. There are no additional materials required for the supplemental lessons.

As soon as Amplify receives a district’s enrollment data, supplemental lessons will be available in the digital experience. 

Once the district submits enrollment data for the school year, schools will have access. 

Each supplemental lesson has PA STEELS cited in the Standards section of the Lesson, whereas all other lessons denote the NGSS and CCSS.
