Each day of the Literacy Data and MTSS Week, a different expert speaker will help you do more with your literacy assessment data, whether you teach in a K–5 classroom, work with adolescent readers, support multilingual learners, or lead a school or district.

From Screening to Systems: Building a Sustainable, School-Wide MTSS

How can you get the most out of your universal screening data? In this session, we'll cover how to go from screening, to instruction, to results by maximizing the use of universal screening data in the MTSS framework. You'll walk away knowing how to use that data to create a clear, sustainable pathway for every student and make confident instructional decisions at every level.

In this interactive session, we'll read universal screening data and discuss how we can respond to what it reveals. Even if our data doesn't look like the MTSS pyramid—most students thriving with a Tier 1 program, a smaller group needing intervention, and only a few that need intensive support—we'll work through how to build an instructional plan that fits our students.

Still Learning to Read: What Literacy Data Reveals About Our Adolescent Students

Wednesday, October 7 | 4:00 PM ET

The Science of Reading doesn't stop at third grade. As students move into the secondary grades, their literacy needs change, as do the assessments used to identify those needs. The people making decisions about core instruction and interventions may change, too. This session asks educators to look closely at screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring data to see how well instruction is working. It also shows how teams across Tiers 1–3 in an MTSS framework can work together to address persistent gaps in foundational skills, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Screening With Purpose: A Data-Driven Approach to Dyslexia Risk Identification and Tiered Supports
