Learning Disabilities Awareness Month: From Deficit to Difference to Strength

Oct. 21 | 4 p.m. ET

October is Learning Disabilities Awareness Month, and we want to help you celebrate it with your students and colleagues.

For generations, learning disabilities were viewed primarily through a lens of deficit, focusing on what students could not do rather than what they could. Today, a growing body of research fueled by the neurodiversity movement invites us to see learning differences in a new light: as unique ways of thinking that can bring not just challenges but remarkable strengths.

In this engaging session for educators, families, and advocates, we'll explore the evolution of our understanding of learning disabilities, the role of Universal Design for Learning in creating more inclusive environments, and the gifts that diverse learners bring to our schools and communities. Together, we'll move beyond awareness to a celebration of possibility, potential, and student success.

Registrants will also receive a recording and certificate of attendance after the event, as well as access to additional resources including our new ebook, Supporting All Learners: Six Simple Shifts To Start Today.
