This time of year brings a lot of anticipation, excitement, and information. Our goal is to guide you and your students with easy-to-understand resources to support you during the first few days, weeks, and even months of the year.

To that end is the newly-added Remote and Hybrid Learning Support section of the website we’ve designed with you in mind—start.amplify.com. Don’t miss this section on the Science page, equipping you with the tools to excel regardless of your teaching scenario.

There, you’ll also find the Amplify Science Quick Start page, with loads of resources gathered specifically to help you start strong this year. This page includes temporary login credentials, links to printable versions of curriculum materials, instruction recommendations, and more—all organized for step-by-step guidance.

Have you registered for the upcoming webinar series, Back to Basics: Getting started with Amplify Science? You can find details on this event and so much more in the “Announcements” area of the start.amplify Science page.

In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, download these printable bookmarks to share with your students.

Coming soon: Editable Science Assessments for grades 6–8

Amplify Science middle school teachers will soon be able to edit all unit assessments (Pre-, Critical Juncture, and End-of-Unit) using a downloadable Word document. Once available, the Word document will be accessible in the same location as the current PDF assessment—the Digital Resources area of the lesson.

Customizable student survey

Get to know your new students with a free customizable survey that will help you identify their unique strengths and weaknesses from day one. Use the survey to build stronger connections with each of your new elementary and middle school science students.

Calling all instructional leaders!

We have a few spots left in the upcoming Professional Learning Providers Academy for Amplify Science that begins October 7. Facilitated by the Lawrence Hall of Science and Making Sense of SCIENCE from WestEd, this Academy is designed to support curriculum coordinators and district science coaches as they improve and invigorate the professional learning they lead. If you are an instructional leader in a district that has been using Amplify Science for a year or more we encourage you to find out more and register here.

Webinar recording and CE credit

Did you miss Boosting Science for Back to School to Support Deep Learning and Engagement with Rebecca Abbott from UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science? Don't worry—we recorded it! View it on-demand to explore how phenomena-based science instruction can ensure deep learning and engagement for all students, as well as accelerate learning for those most impacted by the learning disruptions of the past year. Spotlight

Ben Dudek

Ben Dudek

Helena Public Schools, MT

“This is Ben's third year as a teacher, and he is already one of the most reflective instructors I have had the pleasure of observing. Ben uses the Amplify program with fidelity, focusing on improving students' abilities to read and write in science. He spends additional classroom time having students reflect on their annotations and writing. The growth his 6th graders make in writing is fantastic!”
