Foundational Skills Boost extension
We have extended the Foundational Skills Boost availability until the end of this school year. The video-based, self-guided lessons are designed for students to complete independently, either at home or in the classroom. |
Summer Reading Accelerator
We’ve developed a Summer Reading Accelerator 2021 program built on the science of reading and designed to catch kids up from pandemic-related instructional loss. Our summer program includes Amplify Reading and guidance on how to leverage it to extend the skills taught in Amplify CKLA.

Shannon Montgomery and Mary Snoke
Brookstone Schools, Charlotte, NC
Since August, Shannon and Mary have worked countless hours teaching both in-person and virtual students, simultaneously. This often means after teaching all day, they go home to film themselves for the virtual students to watch the next day. In order to teach in a more interactive environment, they have adapted many of CKLA’s lessons/activities into a digital setting. Shannon has taken the Skills component of the program and Mary has taken the Knowledge component. Shannon and Mary have pieces moving all over the place, to maintain kindergarten students’ attention. Their virtual students are learning to read right along the rest of their in-class students. They are definitely a team getting it done this year!
