CKLA Pausing Points
If you find yourself with additional time as you complete upcoming units, we encourage you to take advantage of the Pausing Points resources. The Teacher Guides provide directions for a number of resources to use for Pausing Point days, including the Decoding and Encoding Remediation Guide (Grades 4 and 5), the Intervention Toolkit, and/or the Fluency Packet (in the Intervention section of the Teacher Resource Site). You can also introduce trade books and Knowledge Builder videos and create topic-based libraries to enrich the program!

Administering end-of-year assessments
Our program is aligned to grade-level standards, which is what students should know and be able to do by the end of the school year. The EOY assessment provides a good indication of whether students have mastered key grade-level standards, and also provides placement information for teachers in the following grade level.

“ Karen's ability to take a student from not even knowing letters and sounds in first grade to reading fluently by the end of the year is second to none. She cares deeply about each student's progress and makes accommodations for individual student learning to make sure each student excels! ”
