In thisnext lesson, we start off by inviting students to make a bracelet and then share something about their design.
This isn’t a math question in disguise! It’s an opportunity for you to learn more about your students. Lean into the chance to build community together.
Consider modeling vulnerability by creating a bracelet and sharing with the class what it means to you. Then, invite students to do the same. Have them pair up and get to know a classmate. If you’re up for it, have students co-create a friendship bracelet together!
Activities like these can give students an opportunity to break the ice and begin seeing one another as people, not just classmates. Learning math together is built from the relationships we build so we hope you lean into these opportunities.
