Susan Lambert, Ed.D. is the host of Science of Reading: The Podcast and chief academic officer of literacy at Amplify. Through these positions, Susan explores the increasing body of scientific research around how reading is best taught.

As a former classroom teacher, administrator, and curriculum developer, Susan is dedicated to turning theory into best practices for educators, as well as to showcasing national models of reading instruction excellence.

Dan Meyer, Ph.D. taught high school math to students who didn’t like high school math. He has advocated for better math instruction on CNN, Good Morning America, Every Day with Rachael Ray, and TED.com.

He earned his doctorate from Stanford University in math education, was the Dean of Research at Desmos Classroom, and is currently the Vice President of User Growth at Amplify, where he explores the future of math, technology, and learning.

Dan has worked with teachers internationally and in all 50 United States and was named one of Tech & Learning’s 30 Leaders of the Future.

Ana Torres is passionate about gathering teaching tips, lively stories, and hard-won lessons from veteran teachers around the world.

Over her 30 years in education, Ana has developed a passion for biliteracy and supporting students from all walks of life, which has been evident in her work at Amplify. And on Beyond My Years, she’s excited to connect with legendary educators from all subject areas about their lives in education—and what they wish they’d known as younger teachers.

Eric Cross is a seventh grade science/technology teacher, grade level lead, and digital learning innovator for Albert Einstein Academies, International Baccalaureate schools. By building relationships with students, colleagues, and the community, he has become an empowered leader in and out of the classroom.

In addition to his role as an educator, Eric is the Classroom Insider for the Beyond My Years podcast.

Greg is a Senior Product Specialist for Amplify, specializing in science and math, and a passionate teacher with over 20 years of experience in education, having taught in public, private, and charter schools. His academic and research focus has been on teaching diverse learners, believing that learning differences are assets, not deficits.

Greg believes that all students can succeed in STEM, regardless of their background or learning style. He is also an advocate for persons with disabilities, and delivers workshops on making the classroom, workplace, and world more friendly to all abilities. While at Amplify, he founded “Limitless,” a resource group for employees with visible and invisible disabilities.

Fawn Nguyen began her work with Amplify in 2022 as a Math Teaching & Learning Specialist and currently serves as Director of STEM Initiatives.

Before Amplify, Fawn was a math coach for a K–8 school district for three years, and a middle school teacher for 30 years before that. Nguyen has also received a number of accolades as an educator.

Alestra Flores Menéndez is the Director of Multilingual Initiatives at Amplify. She brings over twenty years of experience as an educator across diverse contexts.

Alestra has served as a literacy coach with Kamehameha Schools Literacy Instruction and Support, as a college English instructor at UC Berkeley and San Quentin Prison and has designed science and literacy integrated curriculum at UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science, where she authored differentiated instruction supports for students with special needs, multilingual students, and students needing additional challenge.

Alestra has a long history of advocacy for empowering all students to reach their full potential, including multilingual students and students with special needs. She has demonstrated her dedication to educators and students by providing instruction and professional development all over the U.S. and in Latin America. Alestra’s professional pursuits are grounded in the belief that literacy development is a life-long endeavor and the most impactful way to change lives.
