Dear {{custom.firstName}},

Here’s a wonderful idea. There are as many ways to be mathematically smart as there are students in your classroom and no one student is as smart as every student put together. Screen 5 in Welcome to the Robot Factory is a great opportunity for you to communicate that idea.

A picture of the screen. If you know the number of fingers, how can you determine the number of arms? If you know the arms, how can you determine fingers?

Here we invite students to choose one of two ways to think about the relationship between arms and fingers. I encourage you to snapshot some representative responses from both groups of students and celebrate both so that students might understand math better, and better understand the idea that all of us are smarter than any one of us.
