💬 Advice and answers

How can I check on my middle-school students' performance?

Don’t forget that when middle school Unit Assessments are administered digitally, the Reporting tool enables teachers to analyze student performance on the unit assessments. Amplify Science grade 6–8 educators have access to Reporting via the Global Navigation bar.

Where can I find possible responses?

Amplify Science K–5 educators with the digital experience license can access a Possible Responses PDF that looks like completed Investigation Notebook pages. The Possible Responses PDF includes illustrated diagrams, models, and expected Sim usage, where appropriate. Go to the Printable Resources section of the Unit Overview to access yours.

How can I boost engagement?

Here are some suggestions that other educators have shared in our Amplify Science Facebook group:

  • Encourage students to start and participate in discussions.
  • Have students work at the board to demonstrate how they use simulations.
  • Remind students of the problem they're trying to figure out.

Have you submitted your Science of Reading Star Awards nomination?

The deadline is fast approaching to nominate a colleague who has mastered the art of weaving literacy practices into science instruction. Check out our categories and list of prizes—and nominate before Feb. 15.
